Upcoming Atlanta Spring Festivals 2015

Are these freezing temperatures giving you the blues? Are the winter doldrums getting you down? If you are like us, you’re dreaming of warm sunshine and longer days. To help you cope until the sun decides to come out to stay, here is a list of Atlanta Spring Festivals you can look forward to. Go ahead and mark you calendars for these – you won’t want to miss out. MARCH

Atlanta Film Festival

March 20-29, 2015 – The Atlanta Film Festival (ATLFF) is an Academy Award qualifying, international film festival held in Atlanta, Georgia. Started in 1976 and occurring every Spring, the festival shows a diverse range of independent films, including genre films such as horror and sci-fi.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

March 14, 2014 Noon – 1:30 PM – The St. Patrick’s Day parade is Atlanta’s longest running event, dating back to 1858. It’s a fun, family friendly event on a day when “everyone is Irish.”

Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival

March 27-29, 2015 Blackburn Park, Brookhaven –This 3-day celebration of Brookhaven, GA and its blooms will include musical performances, an arts and crafts market, children’s village, 5K Run-Walk / 1K Walk, pet parade and more.”

 

APRIL

Atlanta Dogwood Festival

April 10-12, 2015 Piedmont Park – The 79th Annual Atlanta Dogwood Festival is a free event taking place at Piedmont Park. The festivals features music, artists, yummy food vendors, competitions, exhibitions, and more!

Georgia Renaissance Festival

30th Anniversary Season: APRIL 18 – JUNE 7, 2015 – “The Georgia Renaissance Festival is an interactive art and entertainment festival held each spring combining outdoor theater, circus-style entertainment, and an arts and craft marketplace, all set inside our recreated 16th-Century European village.” This event is located in Fairburn Georgia and parking is free. Inman Park Festival

April 25 – 26, 2015 Noon – 6PM – Coined Atlanta’s Best Street Festival, the Inman Park Festival features live music, kids activities, a Tour of Homes, dance festival, parade and much more. The festival began in the early 1970’s and is said to be the best people watching you can find.

Sweetwater 420 Fest

April 17-19, 2015 Centennial  Park – What goes better  together than live music and good beer? Not much. This festival features performances by artists like Snoop Dogg, Slightly Stoopid, Cold War Kids, Cage the Elephant and many, many more. There is a 5K, SweetWater Experience, artists, food, and of course, beer.

Taste of East Point

April 25, 2015 2PM-9PM– Come get a taste of the South Metro Area at the Taste of East Point. Enjoy the areas best food, art and music – and this year’s special custom car show.

Atlanta Caribbean Carnival

May 23, 2015 12PM-3PM The Atlanta Caribbean Carnival has been bringing a better understanding of Caribbean culture to Atlanta since 1987. Promoting diversity and art education, the festival hosts talented musicians and exhibits.

Shaky Knees Musical Festival

May 8-10, 2015 Central Park  Get your tickets for the Shaky Knees Music Festival today! Headline artists include WILCO, The Avett Brothers, The Strokes, Ryan Adams, and many more! This is one of Atlanta’s premier music events of the year.

Atlanta Food and Wine Festival

May 28-31, 2015 Midtown Atlanta– The Atlanta Food and Wine Festival began in 2010 with a mission to spotlight Southern fare from Texas to D.C. With tasting tents, cooking classes, amazing chefs and even a Sunday brunch, you will leave with happy hearts and full bellies. Be sure to check our their website for ticket information.

Buckhead Spring Arts and Crafts Festival

May 9-10, 2015 Chastain Park-This year’s festival brings approximately 185 artists and artisans. Free to attend, this event is rated one of the top in the city. Don’t miss on the opportunity for some new art or custom jewelry.

Atlanta Jazz Festival

May 22-24, 2015 Piedmont Park– One of the largest free jazz festivals in the country, the Atlanta Jazz Festival features jazz from all over the world. Late night jazz, youth competitions, educational workshops, Marta concerts, and the neighborhood jazz series are just a few of the events taking place. Decatur Arts Festival

May 23-24, 2015 Downtown Decatur– Stay tuned for more information about this year’s festival.

Sweet Auburn Springfest

May 8-10, 2015 Historic Auburn Avenue District –Celebrating 31 years, the festival exists to restore the once prominent area back to it’s glory days. Come out for lots of food and fun – even a zip line!
